This is a group which will focus on the experiences of black men across the lifespan and the experiences we share in various settings. While topics will be responsive to the needs of the group, it is likely there will be focus on a variety of shared experiences black men hold in the realms of work/ career, family life, friendships, and self-advocacy.  

This is a semi-open group, meaning that once quorum is reached there will be no new members joining until the group term has ended. The group will run for 90 minutes a session and is expected to last a total of 8 sessions (roughly 10 weeks).

Access is important, while we all have shared experiences in life as black men it is my hope that our potential differing experiences around finances do not preclude us from coming together how it really matters. This sliding scale sliding scale is intended to increase accessibility to black men’s group for all of those wanting to come together. Each tier reflects a level of financial limitation in an attempt to help participants receive care without undue financial burden.

Take a moment to review the various tears and feel free to self-identify which tier sounds closest to their current financial situation. You do not need to justify your choice, just select which option feels the most appropriate for you at sign up. In between cohorts (or every six months whichever comes first) you’ll be asked to review your tier to ensure it remains suitable.

 Standard Fee

$70 per meeting or $560 for 8-Week Cohort term

While your financial picture may not be perfect, you can afford to regularly attend our group. 

 Moderate Financial Strain

$50 per meeting or $400 for 8-Week Cohort term

This tier is available for participants who find it challenging to pay the standard fee due to various financial obligations. You might be living on a modest income, managing student loans, using Black Men’s Group as a supplement to other care you’re receiving or managing other significant debts. While you can cover your basic living expenses, you have limited room to afford ongoing group participation.

 Significant Financial Hardship

$40 per meeting or $320 for 8-Week Cohort term

This tier is most appropriate for participants with very limited disposable income. This may include those who are unemployed, working part-time, or living paycheck-to-paycheck. You may be struggling to meet basic needs like rent, food, transportation, etc. and can rarely afford to buy new things. You would not be able to afford group meetings without a significant reduction in cost.
